The headline says it all. Our FBI Director, James Comey is doing his job and apparently making waves.
If making waves means conducting investigations causing the present Administration some sleepless nights, it reflects on the Administration’s priorities or actions, not the Director of the FBI.
“Aggressive” investigations mentioned in the article are activities any patriotic American would expect to be done. Consider the following –
- The FBI demand that Apple help unlock an iPhone used by one of the San Bernardino killers (outraging Silicon Valley, a significant source of political support for President Obama and Democrats)
- Linking rising violent crime rates to the Black Lives Matter movement’s focus on police violence
- “Gaps” in the screening process for Syrian refugees
- FBI investigation into the private email server used by former secretary of State Hillary Clinton, specifically for mishandling classified information – felonies all.
At Our American Culture we can understand the Administration’s discomfort with the FBI’s investigations or Comey’s observations. However, we experience much more discomfort from anyone in the Executive branch attempting to influence rule of law by obstructing justice or hampering investigations with public statements.
January 2017 cannot come too soon.
